Experience & Background

Matt Cornner is Vice President of Executive Development Solutions with Advisory Board. In this capacity, Matt serves as a program executive and lead faculty, and also oversees the Advisory Board Fellowship, the firm’s signature program for executive and high potential development.

Across a 20+ year career with Advisory Board, Matt has held several leadership positions, contributed to dozens of research studies and has worked with hundreds of top executives and executive teams as an executive coach and consultant. Matt is considered a leading voice on the demands of leadership in an increasingly complex and disrupted industry. 

Matt holds a master of arts degree in political management from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and a bachelor of arts degree in political science and international relations from the University of California at Santa Barbara and holds a certification in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University. 

Matt grew up in Southern California and now makes his home just outside Washington, D.C., in Darnestown, Maryland, with his wife and teenage daughter. In his spare time Matt enjoys time with his family, baking (mostly sweets) with his daughter, watching Dodger baseball, and playing competitive poker.
