Now more than ever, organizations across the health care industry recognize that non-clinical factors, such as zip code, race, gender, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status, can impact cancer incidence and outcomes. To advance equity in cancer care, organizations across the country are implementing innovative strategies to identify and address these disparities.

Advisory Board is hosting a cross-industry virtual event, Promoting Health Equity in Cancer Care: An Innovation Showcase on Tuesday, May 10th, from 1 - 3 p.m. The event, sponsored by Pfizer, will highlight some of the most thoughtful and impactful strategies to address disparities in cancer prevention, screening, and treatment implemented across the health care industry (hospitals and health systems, health plans, life sciences companies, technology companies, and more).

FAQs

Who is eligible to submit an initiative?

Any leader or staff at a health care organization (e.g., hospital and health system, health plan, life science company, technology company, advocacy group) who is familiar with and can speak to the strategy or initiative their organization has built to advance equity in cancer care. We are currently limiting submissions to two strategies per organization.
What innovations are eligible?

Submissions should highlight a strategy or initiative that the organization has implemented to advance equity in cancer care. This could include, but is not limited to, services to address the root causes of the social determinants of health (e.g., food insecurity, language barriers, transportation issues), data-driven approaches to improve community outreach, targeted patient navigation programs, and cross-industry partnerships addressing a specific community need. Strategies or initiatives should be operational in nature and go beyond funding. Ideally, initiatives should demonstrate thoughtfulness and impact based on a quantitative or qualitative goal.
What are the benefits of participation?

Exemplary initiatives will be featured during the cross-industry showcase and shared through other Advisory Board channels (with a reach of over 220,000+ readers). Those who apply but are not selected may still be highlighted for their work on Advisory Board’s website.
Who should attend?

Anyone! We invite leaders and staff from hospitals and health systems, health plans, life sciences companies, technology companies, and more. You do not have to be an Advisory Board member. If you are interested in attending, register here.
