How Sentara Healthcare expanded inpatient capacity using home health
March 29, 2022
2:00 PM - 3:00 PMAmerica/New_York
The pandemic inspired a flurry of interest in home-based care models. Many health systems treated these pilots as direct extensions of their inpatient units, adopting acute care leadership, clinicians, and reimbursement. Sentara Healthcare took a different approach—leveraging its home health infrastructure in collaboration with hospitalists to create a flexible home-based care model that allowed nurses to safely care for patients at a wide range of acuity, from traditional home health to acute care.
Join Kim Bradley, VP and CNO of Sentara Home Care Services to learn how Sentara redeployed its home health assets and clinicians to create acute care capacity—and grow its home care presence.
Things you'll learn:
- How to use your home health infrastructure to expand inpatient capacity (and create new revenue streams)
- How to upskill home health nurses to deliver more acute care
- How to create an integrated home-based care infrastructure
